Star Vs the Forces of Evil

Disney has long been one of the oldest companies in creating cartoons and for as long as I can remember, it is one of the most viewed channels since I was six along with Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. Disney's Adventures of the Gummi Bears, DuckTales, Darkwing Duck, The legend of Tarzan, The Lion King's Timon and Pumbaa; the list goes on and on. Stars vs the Forces of Evil is one the latest entries in Disney's growing list of animated cartoons.

So what is Star vs The Forces of Evil?

The story follows a magical princess named Star Butterfly who is energetic, friendly, optimistic, happy-go-lucky and rather reckless. Guess Disney's getting tired of their own princess stereotype too. She receives the royal magic wand for her 14th birthday, which apparently is tradition for royalty on Mewni, the land she lives in. The royal magic wand, a family heirloom is bestowed upon her to show that she is responsible enough to use it, kinda like being left in charge of the house by yourself for the first time, only with an artifact that is potentially dangerous in the wrong hands and could result in the destruction of the universe.

You know, no pressure.

Estactic at the chance, Star Butterfly is eager to use the wand for all sorts of fun I mean, prove she is ready for the responsibility of wielding said wand.

Naturally, she fails. Rather spectacularly too.

Since she's proven that she is not ready for the responsibility, her parents the King and Queen of Mewni decided that instead of taking back the wand and teaching her about responsbility, they should instead send her to a place that doesn't have magic -- Earth -- in hopes that she will gain maturity.

You know, because a place where people with zero knowledge about magic and no means to contain it should something go wrong is obviously safe for a girl who can hardly control it herself.

Sarcasm aside, it gives a sort of "magical girl anime" vibe, doesn't it?
